CQC: New Certification for the Cleanliness of Raw Materials in Toys

13. July 2016
On June 17, 2016, the first certificates for the material cleanliness of toys were officially handed over to 14 manufacturers by the CQC (China Quality Certification Centre). Leading representatives from CQC, CNCA and the Toy Association of Guangdong Province participated that event.

This new certification of CQC applies to the classification of the cleanliness of raw materials which are used in the production of toys. The aim is to enable parents a better guidance for buying toys, to raise health standards and safety for children and thus improve the product quality. The certification is based on the stringent requirements of the EU and other industrialized countries.

In the classification of the cleanliness of raw materials in toys 3 grades exist (1 to 3), wherein grade 1 represents the highest level of cleanliness. The certification is based on the CCC certification for toys and the associated standards for toy safety, which are designed to protect children, their physical health and also to improve consumer orientation.
