China Issues Updated CCC Certification Rules for Multiple Product Categories

23. April 2026

China’s updated CCC certification framework is set to expand with the release of new implementation rules covering a broad range of product categories. The announcement from the Certification and Accreditation Administration of China (CNCA) introduces revised requirements aligned with recent regulatory adjustments to the compulsory product certification system. The update reflects ongoing efforts to refine conformity assessment procedures and ensure product safety and quality standards in the Chinese market. Electrical components, automotive parts, and safety-related materials are among the product categories affected by the new CCC certification rules. Products covered under these categories usually require CCC certification in order to be approved for import and sale in China.

Scope of the New CCC Implementation Rules

The CNCA has issued 11 new implementation rules, each corresponding to specific product groups. These include fuse links, small power motors, electric tools, and welding machines, as well as several automotive components such as seat belts, external lighting and signaling devices, indirect vision systems, seats and head restraints, reflective markings, and driving recorders. Safety glass is also included within the scope of the updated rules.

Each rule is identified by a unique code, such as CNCA-C02-02:2026 for fuse links and CNCA-C11 series codes for automotive-related products. All rules are marked as “trial” versions, indicating that they may be subject to further refinement following implementation. The release is based on prior regulatory adjustments outlined in Announcement No. 57 of 2025 by the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR), which revised certification models for certain products within the CCC catalog.

Implementation Timeline and Industry Implications

The new CCC implementation rules will take effect on July 1, 2026. From that date, manufacturers and exporters targeting the Chinese market must ensure compliance with the updated certification requirements for the relevant product categories. This may involve adjustments to testing procedures, documentation, and factory inspection processes depending on the specific rule applicable to each product.

For companies operating in sectors such as electrical equipment and automotive manufacturing, the introduction of these rules underscores the importance of closely monitoring regulatory developments and maintaining alignment with China’s evolving compliance landscape. Early preparation will be critical to avoid disruptions in market access and product approvals.

Further details on certification procedures and technical requirements may be available through official regulatory publications and certification service providers’ compliance resources.
