Realignment of many implementation rules of China certifications for numerous automotive components
9. October 2025The latest information on China compliance in the automotive sector shows comprehensive updates to the implementation rules (implementation regulations) for CCAP/CQC and CAV certifications for numerous automotive product groups.
Among other things, the following are affected:
- Safety belts
- Vehicle lighting
- Devices for indirect vision
- Seats/headrests
- Safety glass
- Warning triangles/reflectors
- Interior materials
- Fuel tank
- Door locks/restraint systems
- Brake hoses
- Honk

For initial issuances and extensions, the obligation to issue certificates according to the CAV standard continues to apply.
Previous implementation rules are no longer valid; ongoing applications are automatically converted to the successor standards. The deadline for converting existing certificates varies and must be coordinated with the relevant authority for each product category.
There were also numerous changes for other product categories, including in the area of e-mobility. We will report on these as soon as possible.
