CFDA: 21st China Beauty Expo Held in Shanghai

From May 18th-20th, 2016 the 21st China’s Beauty Expo (CBE), a beauty and cosmetic fair was held in Shanghai. This is one of the most important beauty shows in Asia. In 2014 it was awarded as a one of the “Top 100 World Trade Fairs” by the Imp-Exp Executive Magazine.
The CBE show hosted suppliers, manufacturers and distributors in the cosmetic and beauty area. The participants and attendees shared the latest trends and innovations. Exhibitors from around the world showed presentations on trends, design, and color or from industry experts like Velvet (France), Martine Leherpeur Conseil & Xiaoqiao (France / China) and Beauty Streams (USA). The show also highlighted the latest in packaging, raw materials, OEM/ODM and production equipment.

For the second time the Business Meetings Asia were part of the CBE. The half-day event gave participants the opportunity to obtain information, make new contacts and network with over 50 manufacturers of makeup, perfume and skin care products. The CBE is a good base for companies to make the contacts necessary for entry into the Chinese cosmetics market.

It is important to note that cosmetic products must be approved by the CFDA (China Food and Drug Administration) prior to being shipped or sold into China. For cosmetics that are used for special purposes, additional technical review by a special institution affiliated by the CFDA is required during the approval process. In accordance with the “Regulation on the hygiene monitoring of cosmetic products” which was approved by the Chinese Ministry of Health, this applies the following beauty products: hair restorer, colorant for hair, perming products, depilatories, products for breast enlargement or breast reduction, slimming and toning products, deodorant, products for the removal of skin-irritation (e.g. Pigmentation) and Sun Protection.
