CNCA Withdraws License of Test Lab to Test Ceramic and Decoration Products
In their fifth announcement on February 8, 2017, the CNCA announced their decision to withdraw the license of one testing center in Guangzhou.
Affected is the Guangzhou based testing laboratory “National Light Industry Decorative Materials Ceramics Quality Supervision and Inspection”. It was responsible for the testing of ceramic and decoration products according to the Implementation rule CNCA-C21-01 of the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA) in regard to the CCC certification.
According to the CNCA, the testing institute handed out fake testing reports and didn’t fulfill its reporting obligation. In order to continue to guarantee the credibility and reliability of all certification procedures, the authority has decided to withdraw their accreditation.
The reason for the sanctions is due to the significant importance of the CNCA accredited test institutes for the Chinese certification procedures such as the CCC certification . Since a large portion of the certifications is based on the product tests that are defined for each product individually in the respective CNCA and GB standard (GB stands for Guobiao).
The aforementioned CNCA-Norm CNCA-C21-01 relates to ceramic and decoration articles for buildings, including porcelain tiles, antifreeze concrete and decorative products with solvent-based wood coatings.
The CNCA implementation rules determine the framework of each certification procedure as well as which product tests are required for the respective certification. However, they do not define the test procedure in detail. For these products, the amount of radionuclides are to be tested. The detailed product tests, the testing methods and the maximum values are defined in the GB standard .
