CCC Compulsory Certification for Small Electric Motors
Certain types electric motors are subject to the CCC certification and must be CCC certified in order to be legally imported and distributed in China. The determination if a motor needs CCC is based on the specification of the motor including the voltage, duty type, design, etc.
Which electric motors are subject to CCC is regulated by the CNCA Implementation RuleCNCA-C04-01: 2014. The Implementation Rule also specifies which motor types are explicitly exempted from the CCC obligation and which product tests are to be carried out during certification.
The mandatory product tests are defined by the GB standards. The standards applicable to the certification of motors are GB 12350 and GB 14711. GB 14711 defines the safety standards for small and medium-sized electrical appliances, while GB 12350 defines the safety requirements of small electric motors specifically.
