CCC: CNCA Performs Random Checks
The purpose of the CCC certification is to ensure that products exported to China, sold in China and used in business activities in China, meet Chinese quality standards. Therefore, the CNCA is always looking for new ways to insure quality standards. Currently, the CNCA puts a lot of focus on the safety of consumer goods, which have CCC certification.
Generally speaking, the most focus is on toys, household appliances, electrical cables, mobile phones, lamps, and fire protection products.
To ensure safety the CNCA checks whether the mandatory annual follow-up audits have been carried out properly. In the course of the follow-up certification, “random sample tests” are usually requested. Random sample tests may be required before or during the factory inspection. In the consumer goods sector there is also the possibility of “On Market Random Sample Testing” Representatives of the authority go into markets and directly take test samples from there. These are then tested according to the applicable GB standard.
Last year a total of 2,044 batches from around 1,321 companies were tested. For 152 batches it was found that these did not meet the corresponding CCC requirements. The CNCA has suspended the CCC certificates of these companies that were found out of compliance. The suspended certificates were publicly announced with a list of names.
