CNCA Implementation Rules for Household Appliances

The China Quality Certification Centre (CQC) website publishes new announcements about products that require CCC certification as well as products that can be certified with a Voluntary CQC Mark Certification. It is the responsibility of the exporter and/or manufacturer to carefully check every product and to fully understand the applicable regulations prior to shipping. Each product category has its own Certification Rules, which are based on the Chinese GB standard. The GB Standards have a corresponding Implementation Rule which the product must comply with in order to get a certification.

In June of 2014 the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA) published an implementation rule CNCA-C07-01:2014 for electronic household appliances and similar electronic devices for household use. The product category includes such items as fans, air conditioners, water boilers, ovens, heaters, etc.

The requirements for the product tests for all electronic household appliances are stated in the GB Standard GB4706.1-2005. There are additional GB Standards which are valid for specific products that also need to be considered. For instance, specific requirements for air conditioner can be found in GB4706.32-2004 and for washing machines GB4706.24-2008, GB4706.20-2004 and GB4706.32-2004 are also required. In order to minimize the security risk, further requirements are defined in GB4343.1-2009 und GB17625.1-2012. The implementation rule CNCA-C07-01:2014 contains an overview for the valid GB Standards.

The test requirements are based on the GB standard mentioned above, and are product specific. The GB Standards as well as the implementation rules for CCC certification are renewed and updated regularly. New Voluntary CQC Mark Certification products and product categories are posted on the website frequently along with important information regarding certification application start dates.
