CCC Compulsory Certification for e-bikes in the planning stage
Electric bicycles, such as e-bikes and hybrid e-bikes, will be subject to China Compulsory Certification in the future. Therefore, importing and distributing said products to China will require a valid CCC certificate in the future.
The general technical requirements for e-bikes are defined in GB 17761-1999. Certain requirements, such as labeling (QB 1714-199) or those regarding the bicycle frame (QB 1880-1993), however, are covered by specific standards. Safety specifications of electric bikes are regulated by a separate standard: GB 24155-2009. According to these regulations, e-bikes may not weigh more than 40kg and be faster than 20km/h. Also, their continuous rated power must not exceed 240W.
