The CCAP Meets Regarding the Certification of Child Seats
On May 30, 2014, the Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China (CNCA) published the Implementation Rule “CNCA-C22-03: 2014″ for the CCC product certification of children’s seats for use in motor vehicles.
Since the initial implementation three years ago, there have been problems in the certification process. The China Certification Centre for Automotive Products (CCAP) will hold a meeting in Shanghai on July 20, 2017 to discuss the problems and develop solutions. The following points will be discussed at this meeting:
- Current status of CCC certification of child seats and management requirements
- Problems encountered in the CCC certification process of child seats
- The consistency of the CCC-certified plants
- Violations of regulations by CCC-certified plants and the causes
- Additional requirements for a change application
- Problems with product tests
In an effort to make the meeting as effective as possible, the CCAP will hold two meetings with manufacturers of child seats. These meetings are intended to provide an insight into the problems the manufacturers face during the certification process.
The Chinese authorities are constantly trying to improve the certification process. The CCC certification of child seats has a number of special considerations that must be observed in order to ensure a safe and a smooth certification process.
