AQSIQ Publishes Interim Report on Compliance with Quality Standards in the First Half of 2017
As a result of the Chinese State Council’s promotion for better product quality, the AQSIQ(General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine) is increasingly testing various product types, for example textiles, notebooks, hoods, electric ovens, indoor heaters, air-conditioning systems, washing machines, bicycles and many more.
A total of 41 product types were tested in the first half of 2017. Test products were collected from more than 2,600 manufacturers. 9.3% of the tested products failed to pass the tests due to poor quality, which represents a decrease of 0.4% compared to the previous year. Of the 2600 manufacturers, more than 600 were CCC certified for the tested products. Of the products with CCC certification even 12.4% of the samples did not pass tests.
In the interim report, AQSIQ not only evaluated the results by product type, but also by provinces and many other criteria. In the future, the number of product tests carried out by the Chinese control authorities will be further increased in order to raise awareness of manufacturers’ compliance and enhancement of product quality.
For CCC certification, the CNCA implementation rules determine which product tests are required for the respective certification. The GB standard (GB stands for Guobiao, Chinese for “National Standard”), defines the testing procedures and the permissible deviations.
