On December 1, 2022 the State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR, Standardization Administration of the People’s Republic of China) approved two mandatory national standards. Among the GB standards<\/strong><\/a> announced is GB 811-2022 for “motorcycle and electric bicycle passenger helmets.” This new standard is scheduled to be implemented from July 1, 2023 and will replace GB 811-2010. Helmets and similar protective equipment require a CCC certification<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n

The National Standard GB 811 determines the basic structure, category, specifications, technical requirements, test methods, test rules and markings for motorcycle helmets for riders, as well as passengers. The requirements also apply to helmets for electric bicycles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The GB standards are the most important group of standards underlying product conformity in China. They apply to both locally manufactured and imported products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
