Taiwan itself has become increasingly important in the Asian region in recent years. Numerous international investors have been attracted by a\u00a0<strong>flourishing market condition<\/strong>.\u00a0<strong>The automotive sector in particular is booming<\/strong>, since an upper-class car is seen as a status symbol. Cars from\u00a0<strong>foreign manufacturers are very much in demand.<\/strong><br>With the increased demand for import cars, more and more suppliers are being required to deal with the issue of Taiwan certification.<br>Like other\u00a0<strong>WTO\u00a0<\/strong>members, Taiwan has laws and regulations regarding quality assurance of certain products. With regard to the automotive sector, the\u00a0<strong>VSCC\u00a0<\/strong>(Vehicle Safety Certification Center), founded in\u00a0<strong>2009<\/strong>, is responsible for the certification process and regulation. The range of\u00a0<strong>automotive parts\u00a0<\/strong>that are subject to certification is similar to other international regulations for motor vehicles. A few of the areas requiring certification includes\u00a0<strong>interior trimming material, seats, headrests, fuel tanks, safety belts, etc<\/strong>.<br>\u00a0<br><br>\u00a0<br>The\u00a0<strong>certification process is complex and can be difficult to complete<\/strong>. The sequence can be roughly broken down as follows:<br>The applicant must\u00a0<strong>apply to the VSCC\u00a0<\/strong>for registration. Only then is it possible to\u00a0<strong>submit the necessary certification documents\u00a0<\/strong>to the authorities. After thorough examination of all documents by the VSCC, the latter determines which\u00a0<strong>test samples\u00a0<\/strong>are to be tested.<br>Depending on the authority\u2019s requirements, the tests may be carried out by the applicant in the local laboratory, or must be sent to an\u00a0<strong>accredited laboratory in Taiwan\u00a0<\/strong>for testing. When sending the test samples to Taiwan, a\u00a0<strong>competent logistics partner or a specialized customs agent located in Taiwan is indispensable<\/strong>.<br>After successfully completed tests, the applicant receives the so-called \u201c<strong>Examination Report<\/strong>\u201d which represents the\u00a0<strong>certificate<\/strong>.<br>In order to maintain the validity, an\u00a0<strong>on-site inspection\u00a0<\/strong>of the plant must be carried within\u00a0<strong>not more than 3 years after receipt of the certificate and at least every 3 years throughout\u00a0<\/strong>the entire time of certification.<br>The\u00a0<strong>focus\u00a0<\/strong>of these one-day audits is the inspection of the\u00a0<strong>quality management\u00a0<\/strong>system. The requirements are similar to other regulations, such as\u00a0<strong>ISO\u00a0<\/strong>or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/china-certification.com\/en\/what-is-ccc\"><strong>CCC<\/strong><\/a>.
