{"id":14514,"date":"2016-01-29T12:04:29","date_gmt":"2016-01-29T12:04:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.china-certification.com\/en\/?page_id=619"},"modified":"2023-02-09T11:45:03","modified_gmt":"2023-02-09T10:45:03","slug":"ccc-new-gb-standard-implemented-for-toys","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.china-certification.com\/en\/ccc-new-gb-standard-implemented-for-toys\/","title":{"rendered":"CCC: New GB Standard Implemented for Toys"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"fb-root\">The new GB standards for toy safety (<strong>GB 6675.1-2014, GB 6675.2-2014, GB 6675.3-2014, GB 6675.4-2014<\/strong>) were released on May 6, 2014 and became effective on January 1, 2016.<\/div>\n<p>During the transitional period (May 6, 2015 through December 31, 2015) manufacturers could choose if their new certification would be based on the old or new standard. The old GB Standard (GB 6675-2003) is no longer valid, so all <strong>CCC certification<\/strong> will now need to be done in accordance to the new GB Standard. All current certificates will need to be updated to the current relevant GB Standard by December 31, 2016. Certificates not updated by this date will be immediately suspended and then finally cancelled after 3 months.<\/p>\n<p>Manufacturers with certificates showing the old GB Standard can apply at the <strong>CQC<\/strong> (China Quality Certification Center) to update their certificates to the new standard during their annual follow up inspection in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>Some important changes to the new GB standards include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>GB 6675.1-2014 \u2013 Basic Code \u2013 Toy Safety<\/strong><br \/>\nIn this first section, the general safety requirements for toys are specified. The prohibited substances were extended to include known toxic substances such as phthalates (plasticizers), specific coatings, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>GB 6675.2-2014 \u2013 Mechanical and Physical Properties<\/strong><br \/>\nIn this section additional requirements of magnets and magnetic toys were established as well as strengthening the acoustics guidelines for children\u2019s toys.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>GB 6675.3-2014 Flammability<\/strong><br \/>\nUpdated safety requirements include newly prohibited materials and new test methods for soft toys, costumes, toys that are worn on the head or designed to be worn by a child.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>GB 6675.4-2014 \u2013 Migration of certain elements<\/strong><br \/>\nSome requirements of ISO 8124-3:2010 have been adopted with minor changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-2738 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/china-certification.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2017\/10\/20160129120641372.jpg\" alt=\"Boy Playing with Abacus\" width=\"424\" height=\"283\" \/><br \/>\nAre you looking for more information regarding <a href=\"https:\/\/china-certification.com\/en\/what-is-ccc\"><strong>CCC certification<\/strong><\/a> of children\u2019s toys?
