{"id":14392,"date":"2014-05-13T16:09:38","date_gmt":"2014-05-13T16:09:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.china-certification.com\/en\/?page_id=218"},"modified":"2023-02-09T11:44:02","modified_gmt":"2023-02-09T10:44:02","slug":"ccc-new-gb-standard-gb-30509-2014-for-identification-of-passenger-cars-and-their-parts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.china-certification.com\/en\/ccc-new-gb-standard-gb-30509-2014-for-identification-of-passenger-cars-and-their-parts\/","title":{"rendered":"CCC: New GB Standard GB 30509-2014 for identification of passenger cars and their parts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In December 2013, the Chinese certification authorities <strong>AQSIQ<\/strong> (State General Administration of Quality Supervision and Inspection and Quarantine of the People\u2019s Republic of China, Chinese: \u4e2d\u534e\u4eba\u6c11\u5171\u548c\u56fd\u56fd\u5bb6\u8d28\u91cf\u76d1\u7763\u68c0\u9a8c\u68c0\u75ab\u603b\u5c40) and <strong>SAC<\/strong> (Standardization Administration Committee of China, chin.: \u56fd\u5bb6\u6807\u51c6\u5316\u7ba1\u7406\u59d4\u5458\u4f1a) issued a new <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/china-certification.com\/en\/gb-standards\">GB Standard<\/a><\/strong> for identification for passenger cars and their parts. This GB Standard 30509-2014 (GB stands for Guobiao, Chinese for \u201cNational Standard\u201d) is entitled <strong>\u201cIdentification for passenger cars and their parts\u201d<\/strong> and will become effective December 1st, 2014.<\/p>\n<p><strong>In GB 16735-2004 \u201cIdentification for passenger cars and their parts (VIN)\u201d and \u201cGB\/T 25978-2010 Road Vehicle-Plate and Label,\u201d both are already implemented, GB 30509-2014 is a supplement to the existing regulations regarding the identification of passenger cars and their parts.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>By having a vehicle identification number (VIN), a car becomes uniquely identifiable. The VIN is a exclusive vehicle number, including a manufacturer ID (world manufacturer identifier, WMI), a vendor specific code and a serial number which is often dependent on the year of construction. Strict rules apply for the assignment of vehicle identification numbers. In case a car model has a <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/china-certification.com\/en\/ccc-for-oem\">non-mass production CCC<\/a><\/strong> (CCC homologation of a model that is not manufactured in series production), only a limited number of vehicles can be sold in China per year, namely only those whose VIN is also shown on the non-mass production CCC certificate of the vehicle manufacturer.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/china-certification.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2017\/10\/201405131639325.jpg\" alt=\"street at night\" width=\"342\" height=\"351\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2573\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The release of the new GB 30509-2014 and many other new standards during the last months shows that the regulatory system of CCC certification and the development of Chinese standards is an ongoing process with no end in sight. <strong>It is important that car manufacturers and automotive suppliers are up to date with the latest developments in GB standards and CCC implementation rules.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In our <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/china-certification.com\/en\/news\">\u201cNews\u201d section<\/a><\/strong> we will keep you informed about all announcements of the Chinese authorities.
