So it came as no surprise when late last year President <strong>Xi Jinping<\/strong> voiced his desire to see China a <strong>\u201cscience and technology superpower\u201d<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>There are already a number of successes to demonstrate China\u2019s determination and expertise in this field. A few examples include the launch of Mozi, the first quantum satellite in <strong>2016<\/strong> and Tiangong, their own space lab and initiative. China has also established <strong>engineering laboratories<\/strong> dedicated to <strong>virtual and augmented reality<\/strong>, <strong>deep learning<\/strong> and <strong>brain inspired intelligence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Their current ambitions revolve around aerospace and cyber industries. China wants to become a world leader in <strong>AI<\/strong> by <strong>the year 2030<\/strong> and it is also making inroads with nanotechnology, biotechnology and quantum information science, aiming to achieve supremacy in the latter as early as this year.<\/p>\n<p>There is healthy government funding, reportedly running into billions of dollars, to back up these bold intentions. The country is currently building the <strong>National Laboratory for Quantum Information Science<\/strong> and is set to become the world\u2019s largest facility of this kind.<\/p>\n<p>It is not just the government driving <strong>Chinese advanced technology<\/strong> forward, executives with a passion for <strong>innovation<\/strong> are making their own mark on the technological landscape. <strong>Ren Zhengfei<\/strong>, founder of <strong>Huawei Technologies<\/strong>, filed more patent applications than any other company in the world last year. Whilst <strong>Robin Li, CEO of Baidu<\/strong>, has vowed to bring autonomous vehicles to the Chinese market as early as <strong>2019<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-3678 size-full\" title=\"Artificial Intelligence\" src=\"https:\/\/china-certification.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2018\/01\/K\u00fcnstliche-Intelligenz.jpg\" alt=\"Artificial Intelligence\" width=\"450\" height=\"263\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The success of tech giants is leading to greater investment in new ventures.
