What is CAV Certification?<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

For several products that fall under CQC certification<\/a> <\/strong>or CCAP certification<\/a><\/strong>, the authorities will issue CAV certificates instead of the CQC and CCAP authorities’ own certificates starting from July 1st<\/sup> 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The certification process is identical to the CQC\/CCAP certification with the difference that in the end the documents are submitted to the Certification Alliance for Vehicle <\/em>(CAV) by the relevant authority (CQC\/CCAP) and the CAV will issue the CAV certificate. In addition to the generally applicable GB standards and GB\/T standards, CAV issued own implementation rules which are applied for CAV certification.<\/p>\n\n\n

Which authorities are responsible for the CAV-Certification?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Chinese authorities responsible for vehicle components and the entire vehicle have joined the Certification Alliance for Vehicle (CAV). <\/em>These authorities include the largest authorities, the China Certification Center for Automotive Products Co., Ltd. <\/em>(CCAP) and the China Quality Certification Center <\/em>(CQC). These authorities are still in charge of managing the certification process, but the certificates will be issued by CAV.<\/p>\n <\/div>\r\n<\/section>\n\n\n

Advantages<\/strong> of a CAV certificate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

From July 1, 2024, only CAV certificates can be applied for from the CCAP and CQC authorities for products that are subject to CAV implementation norms. The certification and application process are identical to the CQC certification<\/a>– <\/strong>or CCAP certification<\/a><\/strong> process and will be processed by CCAP and CQC authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Implementation Rules<\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The following new implementation regulations were implemented as part of the CAV certification:<\/p>\n\n\n

Application Process <\/strong>for a CAV Certificate<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Change of Existing Certificates<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is possible to convert existing certificates to the new CAV format. To do this, an application must be submitted to the respective executing authority. However, this change should be coordinated precisely with the vehicle manufacturer. For new applications only CAV certificates will be issued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Particularly with CQC\/CCAP certificates in combination with a CCC Self-Declaration<\/a>, <\/strong>the change might be linked with a change of the CCC Self-Declaration certificate, since the CAV implementation rules are new. Therefore, the CCC self-declaration certificate (type \u201c98\u201d) might need to be re-issued especially if CCAP\/CQC implementation rules are referenced on the CCC Self-Declaration certificate. A new CCC Self-Declaration will have an impact on the vehicle manufacturers complete vehicle homologation. If you are converting existing CCAP\/CQC certificates to CAV certificates the existing CCAP\/CQC certificates will be deleted as part of the conversion. According to current information, no new certificate number will be issued for the CAV certificate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
