Growing Demand for Special Functions Lead to New Interior Design Solutions for Vehicles

15. November 2018

Modern vehicles represent more than just a means of transportation to their users. Increasing requirements lead to a change of interior design concepts to create additional functions including more room for storage.

The Swabian automotive supplier Schock Metall is seeking to create tailor-made solutions for their clients. The company originally comes from the furniture industry and they are using their furniture design experience in vehicles. One example is the glove box, where the latch “push and pull” mechanism that is used to open the glove box has been replaced with a space-saving slide system. This makes the glove box very easily accessible. The German manufacturer produces the components completely assembled and ready-to-install with their own techniques.

This trend may also be of interest in China, the biggest car market in the world. Luxury cars and exclusive equipment and functions are very popular. Vehicles and certain vehicle components for the Chinese market must be labeled with the CCC logo of the China Compulsory Certificate (CCC certificate).

For more information on how CCC certification may affect your company, or for more information about CCC certification in general, the process, and the associated costs, please visit our website and our News Section where you will find current updates twice a week.
