CCC Certification for Agricultural Machinery

23. November 2022

CCC Certification for Agricultural Machinery

In addition to cars and automobile parts, agricultural machinery is also required to get CCC (China Compulsory Certificate) certification. Tractors and certain types of agricultural equipment such as sprayers will need to apply for CCC certification with CAM (China Certification Center for Agricultural Machinery). The process of getting certified is similar to other CCC certifications for other products. The manufacturer will need to file an application, send test samples of the agricultural machinery to China for testing and then have a factory inspection done by the Chinese authorities at the manufacturing facility.

After the application documents are filled and accepted by the CAM, a request for test samples to be sent to China will be issued. The tests are conducted in accordance with the appropriate GB Standard (GB is short for “Guobiao” which in Chinese means “national standard”). The equipment will be sent to a CAM accredited independent test laboratory in China. Due to the extensive range of complete machines or vehicles such as tractors, it is recommended to have professional support at all levels of the CCC certification process. Generally testing is required to be done in China before the factory inspection, however in some unique cases CAM is allowing the testing to be done at the factory or a test lab outside of China. For testing outside of China, CAM has provisions requiring proof of accreditation to perform the required tests and proof that the prescribed testing is completed to their satisfaction. Requests for testing outside of China require prior approval by CAM.

After all tests are completed and passed, auditors from CAM in China will visit the factory to do a thorough inspection of the facility. The factory inspection usually takes 2 – 4 days depending on the complexity of the product being certified. After a successful factory inspection CAM will issue a CCC certificate. To maintain compliance a follow-up factory inspection must be completed on a yearly basis.
